For almost 1 month now, the Assistant Director of Art and Culture of Puerto Vallarta has been running the first plays of this theater season, leading with two 100% local Valartan plays: "La Mujer en Tiempos de Cólera and El Teatro a Través del Juego" (Woman in the Time of Cholera and Theater through a Game), headquartered at the Cuale Cultural Center.
La Mujer en Tiempos de Cólera is a poetic musical which represents the problems of women in modern times, and is an adaptation of works by Darío Fo, Franca Rame and Rosario Castellanos, which aims to reflect the way in which women are programmed to express their feelings and resentments.
In the current era in which the themes of machismo and feminism are on everyone's lips, it is interesting to take another look at this adaptation portrayed by actresses such as Azucena Medina, Soledad García, Isaura Gomez, Perla Yanina, Mimi and Virginia Zavala, who, throughout the presentation, reveal their thoughts and visions about submissive women, reaching a point where self-esteem and recognition values turn out to be extremely important. Through opportunities such as this, it is to sensitize the viewer to the physical, sexual and mental lives a large percentage of women in our country experience.
The last presentation of this work will be on March 19 at two times: 6:00pm and 8:00pm. There will be a modest cost recovery fee of $80 pesos, plus a 50% discount for students and seniors.
For its part, the play, El Teatro a Tavés del Juego, as its name implies, is based on games and is aimed at children, although you can certainly enjoy with your family. During the play will be the use of puppets. It is presented every Sunday at 12:00 noon until May 30, with a recovery cost of $30 pesos per person.
